It's Time to Party

Located in Godalming, Surrey, a town famed for its beautiful countryside surroundings and bustling high street, The Sun Inn boasts a truly mixed local customer base. Owner and proprietor, Duncan Gray has overcome a multitude of challenges, from fierce local high street competition to ever-increasing food cost inflation, to be able to provide his customers with a unique unrivalled experience including sport, music and a well established food offering. "We have worked very hard over the last 6 years, in all areas, to offer something unique to our locals and in particular have worked tirelessly on offering great, high quality food."

Looking for a way to kick start the joyous Christmas season for his customers, Duncan decided to trial the Moy Park Foodservice It's Time to Party concept, with terrific results. "We offered the buffet alongside our 'race night' and it went down a storm! We saw much stronger profit uplift from including the party buffet and it gave our customers more of an evening to enjoy. The buffet itself worked really well and was so easy to prepare." Featuring products such as the vastly popular Wings of Fire™ and the moreish Wasabi Tempura Vegetable Mix there's something for everyone on the It's Time to Party buffet as Duncan discovered, "It was brilliant because the products can be cooked straight from the freezer and are ready in minutes, meaning that as and when we needed to replenish the buffet we could, in no time at all, keeping the food hot, looking attractive and with minimal food wastage!"

Commenting on how quick and easy the range of Moy Park products were to prepare, Duncan stated that they may have to make the Moy Park It's Time to Party buffet concept a regular fixture at the pub! "Not only did our customers thoroughly enjoy it (all the food went!) but there is also a real bonus in the fact that it was so easy to prepare - perfect when we are really busy."

Promoting their buffet with the fantastically festive It's Time to Party posters and flyers, which are available for you to download here, Duncan was able to invite over 50 people to the pub for the Sunday night offering. "A huge success all round - I would highly recommend Moy Park products and the It's Time to Party to other caterers and will be running the buffet again!"

Duncan's Top Tips:

Presentation is key. Serve the buffet products on platters with a mixture of garnishes and dips to keep things looking fresh and appealing. Why not try serving the Wings of Fire™ with a cooling blue cheese dip. Keep the platters and plates regularly updated - with MPF products it was so easy as they cook so quickly we were able to keep hot products going throughout the evening. Make sure you promote your party buffets well by handing out flyers and putting up posters at least a week before hand which encourages people to save the date!
