I Love Kievs

With its sociable atmosphere and diverse student population of 34,000, Sheffield Hallam University boasts a great range of convenient catering outlets focussed on providing students with delicious, value-for-money meals. Richard McGloin, Assistant Director of Commercial Services at the University notes, "Our outlet’s unique selling points are that they allow the students to sit down and enjoy their meals together – it's all about supporting the 'student experience' for us. We do however face huge challenges from rising food costs and stiff competition from the local supermarkets, who are very much after the student pound!"

Constantly on the lookout for quick and easy to prepare meal options to further strengthen their food offer, Richard recently trialled Moy Park Foodservice's fantastic retro-inspired I Love Kievs menu, which features a delicious range of Kievs, from the succulent Chicken Cordon Bleu Kiev, to the mouth-watering Vegetable Kiev. "The trial was a great success! The sales of the Kievs speak for themselves - we sold out within 24 hours twice. The Garlic Chicken Kiev in particular was extremely popular and was the overall best-seller during the trial. The staff found the Kiev range incredibly easy to cook and serve, and there is a major bonus in that you can guarantee portion control, meaning no wastage."

By promoting the I Love Kievs range with the eye catching 90s-themed POS - designed to target the student market and to reflect the popular retro revival of these fantastic products - the flyers and posters (available for you to download here) helped to create interest and drive sales of the Kievs. Richard commented, "The POS helped massively and the retro link really struck a chord with the students."
