Attracting Happy Families
This month's expert is J-J Horsley, chef from The New Inn in Malvern The New Inn is a recently re-furbished pub simply and successfully providing a Carvery offering. For landlord John Horsley, families had become a big part of his customer base, but with the focus on the refurbishment he had not had time to develop any sort of dedicated offering for children – but Moy Park Foodservice was there to help, with its new Mix and Match menu and tasty, easy to serve products
The New Inn trialled the Mix and Match menu featuring Moy Park Foodservice products, including Non-Fried Whole Muscle Chicken Mini-Fillet, Non-Fried Vegetable Grill, Chicken Nuggets and Mini Donuts, for two weeks and it was a resounding success.
J-J told us that the kid's were kept entertained when choosing from the menu, matching their favourite main with a tasty side order and mixing in a healthy vegetable (with a little persuasion form their parents!). The traditional kids favourites, including chicken nuggets and non-fried chicken fillet were a huge success - as were the mini donuts, which the children couldn’t get enough of.
J-J explained that the parents liked how there were no surprises with the price of the meal, everything including dessert and a drink came to only £4.99. They also loved how the children could choose a healthier option from the menu and that they were kept entertained with the Mix and Match colouring sheets.
With the introduction of the Mix and Match menu J-J is confident that more and more families will be attracted to the pub and feels the menu provides a great finishing touch to a very successful re-invention of the New Inn
