BBQ Bonanza!

Chris Strike, owner of The Maltings, has been running the welcoming Warrington pub for over 4 years. Catering to a very diverse customer base, Chris remarks, "Our customers are really varied and we tend to attract a big age range – my oldest regular is 98 years old!" Although there is stiff competition in the local area from managed pub chains, Chris ensures that he stays ahead of the game with competitive pricing, good food and fun evening events, "We like to run weekly curry nights and quizzes, and we're even starting a student night very soon!" Promoted through eye-catching POS, including posters and local business flyers, The Maltings successfully trialled the BBQ Bonanza menu with exceptional results. Chris notes, "The BBQ Bonanza menu has proved extremely popular with our customers, they loved the products, especially the Falafel Burger, which we had rave reviews on. We completely sold out! During the trial period we also saw our drinks sales increase by nearly 300%, as people were staying longer at the pub enjoying the relaxed atmosphere."

Chris concludes, "The BBQ Bonanza concept is a very, very good idea and we will definitely continue to run the menu as it's a great way to make extra profit. I would recommend it to anyone!"


Chris's top tips to other pubs looking to make more profit from BBQs are:
